How To White List Emails

To make sure you don't ever miss an important message from us, please follow the instructions according to your type of email account.

POP3
If you download POP3 email:

Make sure email from
trafficflare.net goes to your inbox or designated folder

YAHOO

To ensure your email alerts are delivered to your Yahoo inbox (not the Bulk Mail or Junk Mail folder), you can instruct Yahoo to filter it to your inbox. Here's how:

1. Open your Yahoo mailbox

2. Click Mail Options

3. Click filters

4. Next, click add filter

5. In the top row, labeled From Header: make sure contains is selected in the pull-down menu.

6. Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter the address in the From line of our most recent email alert. (Please select the email address from the list provided).

7. At the bottom, where it says Move the message to: select Inbox from the pull-down menu.

8. Click the Add Filter button again.

GMAIL

If you're using Google's gmail for e-mail, here's how to ensure you always get our messages:

Open the latest issue of the e-mail you want to whitelist.

  • Click the More Options link. It's on the title line of the e-mail, over on the right, next to the date. (If you see "Hide Options" instead, then you already have the extra options visible and can just skip this step.)
  • When the extra options are visible (just below the subject line), click the Add sender to contacts list link.
  • Alternatively, you can just send an e-mail to simon@trafficflare.net and that will add the address to your Contacts list automatically. Even if the e-mail you send doesn't get through (for whatever reason), the act of sending it does the job of putting the address into your Contacts list--and that's what counts.

If one of our emails has been filtered into the Spam folder, you can prevent that ever happening again:

Click on the Spam link to open your Spam folder.
Click on the wrongly filtered e-mail to open it.
Click the Not Spam button at the top of the e-mail (right next to "Delete Forever").

VERIZON

If you're using Verizon for e-mail, here's how to ensure you always get our messages:

Go to your Verizon Inbox.

  • Click Options.
  • Select the Block Senders tab (near the top of the screen).
  • On the Block Senders screen, you'll see both a "Block Sender List" and a "Safe List". In the space where it says, "Enter e-mail address or sub domain to always accept even if the domain is blocked", enter the address simon@trafficflare.net

HOTMAIL

If you are using Hotmail, you can ensure that your email alerts are delivered to your Inbox by adding our "From" address to your Safe List. Here's how:

1. Click the Options tab

2. Select Safe List (under heading Mail Handling)

3. In the space provided, enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent email alert

4. Click add

5. When you see the address you entered in the Safe List box click OK

MSN

If you're using MSN version 9, here's how to ensure you always get our messages:

  • Click on Settings: E-mail | Junk e-mail (it's at the bottom left of the screen, just above Calendar).
  • On the E-mail settings screen, click Junk E-Mail Guard.
  • Select Safe List.
  • In the space provided under "Add people to the safe list", enter the address simon@trafficflare.net

  • On the E-mail settings screen, click Junk Mail.
  • Select Safe List.
  • Click Add an item to this list.
  • When the Add To Safe List box appears, enter the address simon@trafficflare.net
  • Click Add.

2. Select the screen name we're sending your email to

3. Click Customize mail Controls for this screen name

Extra note about AOL

AOL has a very aggressive filtration system in place to block SPAM from filling your inbox. Unfortunately, even if you requested to receive email from us, it can get blocked out by AOL's spam filters.

**Add our email address to your approved list

**Additionally, AOL's new SPAM controls will recognize what kinds of email you consistently delete and in about a week will automatically delete these emails from your inbox. For example, if you do not open our Email for about a week, AOL will automatically block you from receiving any additional messages from our address/domain.

We recommend that you open each Email update at the first convenient time when it arrives in your inbox.

If you are not receiving the messages, we recommend that you contact AOL and request they unblock our email so you may
continue receiving our newsletter.

Note if you use services like spam arrest!

A lot of times, you should only use services like spam arrest only if you do not subscribe to online services, i.e. you only receive a few non-commercial emails from friends.

If you use such services, be sure to add our email address to your whitelist. Most of these services will have a way for you to do so

In spam arrest you go to "Senders" then Add email address". Add simon@trafficflare.net to authorize it.

We may not always be able to confirm delivery requests from such services.
